Directions

To home office

DIRECTIONS - Follow ours, not those of standard map sources, at least for the home office site. Your GPS or map programs may confirm your route or may send you down an impassable road.

1835 Oak Haven Plantation Road, Osteen 32764-8872
407-321-1006

Best Paw Forward, P.J. Lacette
1835 Oak Haven Plantation Road, Osteen 32764-8872; 407-321-1006

GPS, Google, Mapquest and other programs are not always helpful for this location, at least not for the final portions, though the GPS seems to be getting better.

Avoid any route that mentions Boy Scout Camp Road or Lake Ashby which has been impassable for years for most vehicles.

During, shortly before and shortly after class hours every volunteer will be involved with attending students, so it is unlikely that anyone will be available to monitor phone calls.  (We welcome more volunteers to help with these tasks if you know anyone that is interested in work study or helping out in a great program.) This makes it doubly important that you use our directions for the Osteen site.
Directions for the Maitland Civic Center and Spring Oaks Animal Care Center in DeLand are both at the end of this page.
There are few street signs once you get to the 1 mile of dirt road, so landmarks listed will help you navigate easily.  Paw prints are painted on some of the power poles starting on Maytown Osteen Road, and some are created with reflectors, to reassure you that you are headed the right way. Some are angled to help point the way to turns.

Feel free to drive on whichever part of the dirt road provides you the most comfort – no need to stay in lower areas for a car with low clearance.

Drive slowly once you get to the dirt road to avoid frightening horses and other livestock, as well as local wildlife. We regularly see deer, wild turkeys, bald eagles, hawks and more. Lower speeds also help preserve the road work done so far.

Please call before visiting the Osteen site if you want to speak to a club member. For some of our smaller sessions there may be only one club member helping at a time so there may be no one to answer questions during programs. Visitors are also welcome to check out classes at the Maitland Civic Center most Mondays between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.
