Super Work Study Additional Discount
for Yard Work!
Work study hours are cut in half if you are willing and able to mow, weed, edge, paint, dig and perform other similar
strenuous outdoor tasks, and can bring your own tools. Prime yard work times are Monday or Thursday mornings,Wednesday
mornings or afternoons, Friday evenings, or Sundays. Similar deals and times are available for cleaning, either
inside or out.
To
reserve your class or club program spot - Bring
in or e-mail your completed signed paperwork for work study and class registration and set up an appointment time.
- Provide a charge card or a signed check as a backup. Once the work study time is completed your credit card
information or check will be returned or destroyed.
- Begin your work study.
- There
will be a $20 service charge for any cancellation more than one week before the first class. A cancellation less than one
week before class will mean full payment for the class, with the opportunity to take a free series at our club base locations
starting in the next six months.
Printing OptionFor some classes we also offer a fast printing option, where you can cut your cost by 30-50 percent of any full
series price by running a single errand in your neighborhood. You pick up and pay for our printed materials at nearby approved office supply stores. That
earns you substantial savings. An $80-$99 pickup at a nearby copy center, for instance, means a 6-week series is paid
in full.
You must have e-mail
access so you are able to submit the required information to bestpaw@iag.net, and so that afterwards the
copy center can notify you by phone and/or e-mail to pick up the order.Your entire class fee is covered once we receive the materials and receipt, which must be delivered
to us at least one week before your first class.
Drop-outs will be charged the full price for classes, either
in materials or work study backup payment which is required. The materials must be delivered to us at our location by appointment
at least one week before you begin your first class.

Missing
Work Dates or Dropping Out
We value your work study/barter as a major contribution to our program. Our work study volunteers
make it possible for us to reach more people and their dogs, and keep more dogs in their homes instead of in shelters.
Missed work
time must be completed even if you miss a class. (We have liberal class make-up policies.) Missing several work appointments
without contacting us and/or not making up the time may warrant payment in full for your class regardless of your class attendance
record. Our time spent on the telephone and on-line arranging your work study will count in the cost for any drop-out students.
If
for any reason the work hours are not completed once you register for the series, full class payment is still required.
By participating in the program, you are approving the cashing of your check or the processing of your credit card
for the full amount if you drop out early for any reason.
We often turn away other paying and work study
students asking for your spot in class. There is no practical option for partial credit since a good portion of the first few work sessions may be
devoted to showing you where supplies are located, how to fill out forms etc. We often get full benefit from your work study
time only in later sessions.
Can my children come with me on work days?
School-age children and teens are welcome at any time.
Ask about guidelines for bringing preschoolers during work study.
Of course we love to have youngsters join you
in class, but we recommend two adults attend classes with children younger than 5.
When can I help teach classes?
Most
of our instructors started out as work study volunteers who continue their doggie education with us today, and have become
trainers of whom we are incredibly proud.
We encourage those interested in this form of work
study to continue to advanced obedience and behavior classes, and with time and experience take advantage of the opportunity
to assist our instructors in our many types of programs.
Obedience and agility titles on your own dogs speeds
up the process.
Talk to PJ when you feel comfortable enough to consider assisting in classes, which requires
a good deal of time and commitment to our program. As an experienced instructor or teaching assistant in a full 6-week
series, you will receive unlimited classes for any of your dogs in any location during the weeks you're teaching/assisting
and for the following 6-week series.
Once you stop teaching/assisting, you get the following 6-week series free.
That makes it easy to schedule a 6-week break or you may rotate teaching schedules with other instructors

If assigned work study tasks are not meeting our current needs we reserve the right to assign different tasks for
the remainder of the work study hours. In other words, there is no way to guarantee which tasks will be assigned on each visit,
though of course we will honor special needs. If phone calls are caught up, for instance, you may stuff envelopes or folders,
file, do light dusting or sweeping, or perform other housekeeping chores.
