Best Paw Forward

About Us

Our Instructors:

We offer the most comprehensive puppy and basic classes in Central Florida, as well as the longest running group clicker education in the southeast United States. That positive foundation has created fun, productive performance and show classes too.

Our club's home base is located on 10 lovely, fully-fenced acres (with safe ponds) in Osteen in Volusia County.

We are members of:

Many of our methods are based on those of Dr. Ian Dunbar, and clicker training methods we learned from Karen Pryor & Gary Wilkes

P.J. Lacette of Best Paw Forward, Inc. was one of the original faculty members for Karen Pryor Academy, the elite program for experienced dog trainers.

We were very fortunate to have attended some of Dr. Dunbar's first Florida programs more than 25 years ago. When he created the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, now the largest dog trainer organization in the world, our founders became some of the earliest charter members. At the second annual APDT educational conference, held in Chicago in 1995, we began clicker training after watching Pryor, Wilkes and Sue Sternberg demonstrate this powerful, fun training too!

We’d love to hear from you. Tell us a bit about your dog and how we can help him become the perfect family companion. We offer both group & private sessions for problem pets as well as performance & show dogs.
